FOSSACESIA, (CH), ITALY, October 17, 2024 /EINPresswire.com/ — MDB Srl, Oranfresh Srl and Vision Global Service have won the “Reporting” award in the “Technical Novelties” competition, sponsored by EIMA International 2024. This award recognizes the technical innovations of manufacturers in the industry serving agriculture and gardening, who are increasingly at the forefront of production quality, safety and environmental sustainability. This machine will be on display at EIMA International from Nov. 6-10 at the MDB booth, located in Hall 16 – Stand A5.
The orange harvesting machine is the brainchild of Oranfresh Srl, which financed and coordinated partners to combine different technologies to realize this project. The technologies used are based on the MDB machine Pocket Lift Plus, which uses a remote control system to ensure operator safety. Vision Global Service developed a camera system mounted on an anthropomorphic arm that uses machine learning vision to recognize shapes and colors so that only ripe oranges are selected and placed in crates ready to be displayed and sold. The advantages of this machine are increased worker safety, productivity and effectiveness in fruit sorting.

The orange harvesting machine will conduct field tests during the remaining months of 2024 that will provide crucial operational information for changes to be made to the product before it is marketed. The expected production date for the units will be the end of 2025.
